Terms and Conditions

These terms cover your use of LeRent, a private billing site run by your landlord for tenants of their rental property. By using the site you agree to them.

Your lease comes first

These terms cover the website only. Your rent, deposit, utilities and other tenancy rights and duties are set by your lease and the law. If these terms and your lease differ, your lease applies.

Your account

Accounts are for current and former tenants who have been invited. Keep your password private and your contact details up to date, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.

Bills and estimates

Your invoices show the amounts you are being billed. Utility charges are worked out from meter readings and the rates in use for that period.

Usage so far and next-bill estimates are for information only. They can change as readings arrive, and your actual invoice may be different. If you think a bill is wrong, contact us.

Payments

This site does not process payments. Links to Venmo or Cash App take you to those services, which have their own terms. A payment shows here after it has been recorded by hand, so it may not appear right away.

Text messages

• Program: LeRent bill notices.
• What you get: texts about your rent and utility bills, such as a new bill or a payment reminder. We do not send marketing texts.
• How to sign up: texts are optional and are not required to rent or to use this site. To sign up, check "Text me my bills" on your account page or ask your landlord to turn them on.
• How often: usually 1 to 3 messages a month, and more if a bill is overdue.
• Cost: message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier.
• How to stop: reply STOP to any text, or uncheck "Text me my bills" on your account page.
• Help: reply HELP to any text, or contact us below.
• Delivery: carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Using the site

Do not try to reach other people's accounts or information, interfere with the site, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend access to protect the site or other tenants.

Availability

We aim to keep the site working, but it may sometimes be unavailable or show out-of-date information, including when a meter or outside service has a problem. Your obligations under your lease continue during those times.

The site is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses caused by its use or unavailability. Nothing here limits rights you have under your lease or the law.

Changes

If we change these terms, we will post the new version here and update the date above. Continuing to use the site means you accept them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the state where the rental property is located.
